Victor Mete

EDMONTON - Hockey Canada announced on Saturday that defenseman Victor Mete will be one of three assistant captains at the upcoming World Junior Championship.

The 19-year-old will wear an "A" alongside Dante Fabbro and Kale Clague, while Dillon Dube succeeds Dylan Strome as Team Canada captain this year.
Mete played 27 games with the Canadiens earlier this season, registering four assists and a plus-5 differential as an NHLer.
This year's tournament with be held from Dec. 26 to Jan. 5 in Buffalo, NY. Canada will hit the ice on the opening day of the tournament, opposite Finland.
