The Woodbridge, ON native isn't planning on living solo, though. His mother, Mary, will soon be joining him in his new hockey home.
"I think my mom's going to come down and live with me for the first year here, so I kind of feel at home and kind of make my way through the season here and have her help me out," said Mete, who is eager to welcome Mary to the city on a full-time basis. "We have a really good relationship. For her to come down here and kind of teach me how to cook for the upcoming seasons, I think it's really good."
Head coach Claude Julien is certainly in agreement there.
"What's important for him is good nutrition and good rest. It's comforting knowing that his mom is here," mentioned Julien. "It's an ideal situation."
