Mattias Norlinder will continue his development in Sweden this season

The defenseman will join Frölunda HC in the SHL for the remainder of their season

MONTREAL - The Montreal Canadiens announced today that defenseman Mattias Norlinder will return to Frölunda HC in the Swedish Hockey League for the remainder of the SHL season.

After discussions between the Canadiens, Mattias and his agent, the parties agreed that it was best for his development as a professional hockey player to return to Frolunda at this time.
A third-round selection of Montreal (64th overall) in 2019, Norlinder appeared in six games with the Canadiens this season, collecting an assist and posting a plus-2 differential.
He also registered one goal and one assist in six games with the AHL's Laval Rocket.
