MONTREAL - The Canadiens announced on Tuesday that defenseman Mattias Norlinder has been loaned to the AHL's Laval Rocket.

Norlinder, 21, has played six games for the Habs this season, picking up one assist. He has also recorded four hits, three blocked shots, and a plus-2 differential.
The native of Kramfors, Sweden, was Montreal's third-round pick (64th overall) in 2019.
For his part, Corey Schueneman returns to the Canadiens after a brief call-up from Laval last week. Montreal brought him up from the Rocket on Friday before sending him back to the Habs' minor-league affiliate the following day after they claimed fellow defenseman Kale Clague off waivers.
Schueneman was not able to return to the Rocket in time to play in Sunday's game against the Marlies in Toronto. The 26-year-old blue-liner has two goals and five assists in 18 games with Laval this season.
