MONTREAL -- The Canadiens made a pair of personnel moves on Wednesday morning, recalling defenseman Mark Barberio from the IceCaps, and reassigning Joel Hanley in his place to St. John's.

Through 18 games with the IceCaps in 2016-17, Barberio racked up three goals and 11 assists, totaling 14 points. Assigned to the AHL following training camp this year, the 26-year-old played 30 games with the Habs a season ago, registering two goals and eight assists.

Hanley for his part was recalled from St. John's on November 2 and suited up for five games with the Canadiens, but was held scoreless with a minus-2 differential.
