- Aaron Palushaj and Scott Gomez joined the team in Edmonton on Wednesday after missing the game in Calgary with eye injuries. With both players set to dress for the second game of the Western Canada trip, Andreas Engqvist and Louis Leblanc were returned to Hamilton prior to Wednesday's practice.

- Raphael Diaz did not skate on Wednesday, still recovering from a lower body injury.

- Randy Cunneyworth will only announce which of his two goaltenders will face the Oilers on Thursday morning. If Cunneyworth goes with Carey Price, it will mark the 24-year-old’s 59th start of the season, looking to build on his 1-4-1 career record against Edmonton. If Peter Budaj makes his 10th start of the season, he’ll be adding to his 13-6-3 record against the Oilers in 23 career games played.
