The Canadiens held a brief practice Thursday morning at the Nassau Coliseum, a few hours ahead of their game against the Islanders.

Rene Bourque took part in the morning skate along with the rest of his teammates. However, as head coach Michel Therrien mentioned before leaving Montreal, Bourque is not expected to take part in Thursday’s game.

Five players were not on the ice for the Habs’ morning skate, with Tomas Plekanec, Brian Gionta, David Desharnais, Max Pacioretty and Francis Bouillon all sitting out. They are all expected to be on hand to face the Islanders when the puck drops at 7:00 p.m.

Tomas Kaberle and Peter Budaj both stayed on the ice following practice along with the team’s goaltending coach, Pierre Groulx.
