BROSSARD -- It's trade deadline day in the NHL.

Teams can submit trades to the League office until 3:00 p.m. ET.
General manager Kent Hughes completed one transaction last week, shipping defenseman Ben Chiarot to the Florida Panthers in exchange for forward Ty Smilanic, a first-round pick in 2023, and a fourth-round pick in 2022.

Hughes will address the media at 3:30 p.m. at the Bell Sports Complex to discuss the club's trade deadline efforts.
Special advisor to hockey operations Vincent Lecavalier will address the media in person for the first time shortly after Hughes.
The press conferences will be streamed live on the Habs' official Twitter account.
On Twitch, canadiens.com special contributor Marc Dumont will go live throughout the day with instant reactions to any trades the team may make. A post-deadline Q&A will also be hosted following the 3:00 p.m. cut-off time.
The Canadiens will also face the Boston Bruins tonight at the Bell Centre.

The Canadiens traded forward Artturi Lehkonen to the Colorado Avalanche in exchange for defenseman Justin Barron and a second-round pick in 2024.
Barron has registered 20 points (5 goals, 15 assists) in 43 games with the AHL's Colorado Eagles this season.

The Canadiens traded goaltender Andrew Hammond to New Jersey in exchange for forward Nate Schnarr.
Schnarr has registered 26 points (13 goals, 13 assists) in 43 games with the AHL's Utica Comets this season.

The Canadiens traded defenseman Brett Kulak to Edmonton in exchange for defenseman William Lagesson, a conditional second-round pick in 2022, and a seventh-round pick in 2024.
Lagesson has four assists in 30 games with the Oilers this season and two assists in 11 games with the AHL's Bakersfield Condors.
