MONTREAL - Canadiens GM Bob Gainey announced Tuesday that forwards Maxim Lapierre and Andrei Kostitsyn have been assigned to the Hamilton Bulldogs of the American Hockey League.
Lapierre, 22, played in 46 games with the Canadiens in 2006-07 and concluded the season with 6 goals and 6 assists for a total of 12 points (6-6-12) and 24 penalty minutes. In 33 games with the Bulldogs, the 6-foot-2, 197 pound forward collected 9 goals and 12 assists for a total of 21 points. He collected 57 penalty minutes and posted a plus-7 differential.
Kostitsyn, 22, took part in 22 games with the Canadiens and registered a goal and 10 assists for a total of 11 points (1-10-11). He totaled six penalty minutes and posted a plus-3 differential. With the Bulldogs, the 6-foot, 200-pound forward and collected 52 points, including 21 goals (21-31-52) in 50 games, good for 4th place on the Bulldogs. He registered 50 penalty minutes and posted a plus-24 plus/minus rating.
