Lapierre assigned to Hamilton

MONTREAL  - The Montreal Canadiens announced Wednesday that centreman Maxim Lapierre has been assigned to the Hamilton Bulldogs of the American Hockey League.

Lapierre, 21, was recalled by the Canadiens on Monday, December 11. In four games with the club, the 6-foot-2, 196-pound forward collected three goals and one assist, and a plus-5 rating.

With the Bulldogs this season, Lapierre has totaled 19 points, including eight goals in 26 games (8-11-19).

He will join the Bulldogs in time for tonight's game in Winnipeg, against the Manitoba Moose.
