MONTREAL - The Canadiens announced that defenseman Justin Barron has been called up from the AHL's Laval Rocket before flying to Florida on Tuesday.

In 25 games with the Rocket this season, Barron has collected seven goals and nine assists for 16 points, leading all rearguards in Laval.
The 21-year-old blueliner played five games for the Canadiens at the end of the 2021-22 season after he was acquired in the trade that sent Artturi Lehkonen to Colorado at the trade deadline.
A native of Halifax, NS, Barron was selected 25th overall by the Avalanche at the 2020 NHL Draft.
The Canadiens will play on the road for the next four games with two stops in two days in Florida, before heading to Washington and Nashville.
