- Montreal Canadiens general manager Marc Bergevin announced Monday the signing of defenseman P.K. Subban to a two-year contract (2012-13 to 2013-14)

-Canadiens head coach Michel Therrien and general manager Marc Bergevin announced Monday morning that both Alex Galchenyuk and Brendan Gallagher will be staying in Montreal. For Galchenyuk, it means that 2012-13 will now count as the first year of his three-season contract with the Habs.

-Defenseman Andrei Markov wasn’t on the ice for Monday’s practice, taking a therapy day after getting nearly 30 minutes of ice time Sunday night against the Devils.

-While he may have missed Sunday’s games, defenseman Tomas Kaberle was back on the ice with team on Monday after having recovered from taking a puck in the face during Saturday’s practice.

-Michel Therrien confirmed that Peter Budaj will step into the crease for at least one game for the Habs in the upcoming week.
