- Canadiens head coach Randy Cunneyworth didn’t travel with the team, remaining in Montreal for personal reasons, but will be in Boston for Thursday night’s game. Cunneyworth is expected to be available to speak with the media at 5:00 p.m. at the TD Garden. In the coach’s absence, Randy Ladouceur ran the Canadiens’ morning skate.

- Carey Price should suit up for his eighth consecutive start for a total of 38 so far in 2011-12. The 24-year-old goaltender will be disputing his 24th career game against the Bruins.

Carey Price Highlights

- When the NHL announced the remaining 36 All Stars who will join Daniel Alfredsson, Jason Spezza, Milan Michalek, Erik Karlsson, Dion Phaneuf and Tim Thomas in Ottawa on Jan. 26, Price's name was among them. Price will be making his third All-Star Game appearance in his short career after suiting up as a starter in 2009 before being selected for the 2011 Game last year.

- Scott Gomez stayed on the ice after the rest of the team had finished practicing, accompanied by Randy Ladouceur, Larry Carriere, Pierre Groulx and Peter Budaj.

- Taking into consideration his available players – only 11 of them forwards – the Habs head coach will likely once again count on 11 forwards and seven defensemen when his team faces the Bruins in Boston.
