Newcomers Mike Johnson and Sergei Samsonov introduce themselves to their fans at the Jamboree.
MONTREAL - With the sun shining, Canadiens fans from far and wide gathered in front of the Bell Centre Sunday to meet their hockey heroes as thousands turned out to celebrate the fourth edition of the Canadiens Jamboree.
The fun started as soon as the doors opened at 11:00 a.m. with photos and interactive games being the order of the day.
Among the many activities available on site, Canadiens fans both young and old had the chance to soak in the sights and sounds of a series of ball hockey games like none other. With current Canadiens and Habs stars of yesteryear happily trading in their skates for sneakers, a few lucky fans and media members had the opportunity to strut their stuff against the very best.
The event also marked the first opportunity for local fans to catch a glimpse of fresh faces Sergei Samsonov and Mike Johnson, who after joining the Canadiens on July 12 were more than happy to sign caps and t-shirts for their newest supporters.
The Canadiens and their fans will team-up once again on Tuesday when Guy Carbonneau's squad hosts the Bruins to open the preseason calendar at the Bell Centre.
