Ever wonder what it would be like to take a walk through the Canadiens' dressing room? Thanks to a little modern technology, canadiens.com can now allow you to do exactly that by exploring our new 360 degree view of the Canadiens' room at the Bell Centre.
During your virtual visit, you will have a behind-the-scenes look at where the Habs suit up before games and practices, while also getting the chance to see first-hand exactly who sits where in the dressing room.
The Canadiens' sacred lair also includes a number of familiar elements from the team's days at the Montreal Forum, which were carefully transferred from the corner of Atwater and Ste. Catherine to the Molson/Bell Centre in March of 1996.
The most notable carry-over from the Forum is the famous verse plucked from "In Flanders Field," a poem by John McRae. "To you from failing hands we throw the torch, be yours to hold it high," is a quote that has adorned the Canadiens dressing room since 1952-53, when head coach Dick Irvin had it painted high on the wall for all of his players to see. The impact of the verse has withstood the test of time, continuing to be a source of inspiration for all those to have since worn the Canadiens sweater.
Also attentively brought over from the Forum are the portraits of all 41 Canadiens to have taken their rightful place in the Hockey Hall of Fame. From Howie Morenz and Maurice Richard, to Jean Beliveau and Guy Lafleur, you will be able to see all of the team's legends lined high above the dressing room. After all, a little help from the Forum ghosts always comes in handy.
Enjoy your visit!
