BROSSARD - In today’s Habs Notebook, find out whose suitcases are packed for the road and who will be bringing a recently unused hat.
Road-trippin’ Roman: Despite leaving Tuesday’s game against Chicago with an injury, Roman Hamrlik will be making the trip to Long Island and Toronto. The news wasn’t as good for Sergei Kostitsyn, who will stay back after aggravating a shoulder injury on a questionable hit by Aaron Johnson.
“Roman should be okay to go tomorrow night against the Islanders but we’d rather Sergei stay here for treatment,” said Bob Gainey. “There had been some pain and we knew about that, but he was still able to play. The hit on Tuesday made the situation worse.”
Role reversal: With Sergei sidelined, Christopher Higgins will swap his shutdown role for a spot on the Habs’ second unit.
“I’ll likely be playing with Tomas and Andrei. We finished the game together Tuesday night and we’ve played together before. We’ll have to make sure contribute offensively.”
