MONTREAL - With free agent mayhem almost upon us, the Canadiens extended qualifying offers to six players who suited up for the Habs this past season.
In so doing, the Canadiens will have the option of matching an potential offer these players could get as of July 1 as restricted free agents if they do not re-sign with Montreal before then. Headlining the half dozen players are Christopher Higgins and Tomas Plekanec
, who each signed two-year pacts back in 2007.
Joining them are Guillaume Latendresse, Kyle Chipchura, Matt D'Agostini and Gregory Stewart who each signed three-year deals in 2006.
