Game Preview: Canadiens @ Senators

by Staff Writer / Montréal Canadiens

The Canadiens are in Ottawa on Friday for the first half of a home and away series against the Senators, before travelling back to Montreal on Saturday to wrap up the preseason at the Bell Centre.

Peter Budaj will get his first full start in goal while Dustin Tokarski handles backup duties, opposite starting Sens netminder Robin Lehner.

Icing an experienced lineup on Friday, head coach Michel Therrien will nevertheless give a number of Habs hopefuls another chance to make their marks, namely, Darren Dietz, Nathan Beaulieu, Jacob De La Rose, Jarred Tinordi and Christian Thomas, who will suit up alongside veterans P.K. Subban, David Desharnais, Manny Malhotra, Rene Bourque, Max Pacioretty and Pierre-Alexandre Parenteau.

Ottawa coach Paul MacLean, meanwhile, will count on a nearly complete starting lineup in Friday’s penultimate preseason matchup, notably dressing Bobby Ryan, Kyle Turris, Clarke MacArthur, and new captain Erik Karlsson.

The puck drops at 7:30 p.m.
