Game Preview: Canadiens @ Coyotes
TV: RDS, SNE 9:00 p.m.
The Canadiens return to action with a trip to Arizona where they will take on the Coyotes on Monday night.
On Friday night in Buffalo, the Habs mounted a second half comeback with three goals in the second period, but ultimately fells short by the score of 6-4. Both Alex Galchenyuk and Sven Andrighetto lit the lamp twice for the Habs in the loss, while defenseman Andrei Markov chipped in with two assists.
Following Sunday’s practice in Arizona, coach Michel Therrien confirmed that Mike Condon will earn the start between the pipes for the Canadiens. Condon, who earned the start against the Coyotes in a 3-2 loss back on November 19, has faced-off against Arizona just once in his NHL career thus far.
In addition, the club confirmed that defenseman Nathan Beaulieu and forward Jacob de la Rose will both be in the lineup against the Coyotes on Monday night. Beaulieu draws back into the lineup after missing Friday night's contest with lower-body injury, while de la Rose gets his first taste of NHL action since being recalled on February 10.
After the Coyotes put a stop to their five game losing streak with a 4-1 win over the Calgary Flames on Friday night, the team suffered their own 4-1 loss at the hands of the San Jose Sharks the following night. Quebec native Louis Domingue, who is confirmed as Monday night's starter, picked up a win over the Canadiens in his first career start in the NHL on February 1, 2015.
Monday night presents the Canadiens their last chance to even the season series, as the Coyotes took the first match-up thanks to a game-winning-goal from Oliver Ekman-Larsson.
