- Michael Blunden successfully underwent arthroscopic knee surgery to repair a meniscus earlier this morning. He will be out 4-6 weeks.

- Travis Moen missed the Canadiens' Wednesday practice to be with his wife Amy who just gave birth to a baby girl this morning. Moen will be joining the team in Long Island to play against the Islanders on Thursday night.

- Yannick Weber was also absent from the team’s morning skate and is listed as day-to-day after suffering a lower body injury in Tuesday’s game against the Penguins. Randy Cunneyworth confirmed that Weber will not join the team on their current road trip.

- Andrei Markov skated alone for roughly 40 minutes Wednesday morning before the rest of the Canadiens practiced. Randy Cunneyworth had this to say about the team’s veteran defenseman: “The fact that he was able to skate for that long shows that he’s making progress as he continues to build strength in his leg. There’s still no date or timeline set for his return. He’ll let us know when he feels both physically and mentally ready to to come back.”
