- Still battling an upper-body injury, Mathieu Darche will not be taking part in Friday night’s game against the Capitals in Washington.

- Petteri Nokelainen is expected to make his return to the Canadiens’ lineup tonight after missing the team’s last 14 games.

- Andrei Markov practiced with his teammates Friday morning wearing a no-contact jersey before then staying on for a one-on-one session with strength and conditioning coach, Pierre Allard. The practice would mark the first time since his most recent operation on Dec. 5th that the All-Star defenseman joined the rest of the team for a morning skate.

- Carey Price should be getting his 54th start this season tonight against the Capitals. It will mark his 11th regular season career start vs. the Caps.

- Despite leaving the ice only 15 minutes into the Capitals’ practice, Alexander Ovechkin confirmed that he will be in the lineup to face the Canadiens on Friday night. Roman Hamrlik, on the other hand, will not be on hand to face his former team, with head coach Dale Hunter stating he’ll be a healthy scratch for the game.
