- After an off-ice workout, a few players hit the ice for an optional skate in Brossard, including Yannick Weber, Lars Eller, Peter Budaj, Chris Campoli, Aaron Palushaj and Ryan White.

- Carey Price also joined his teammates for a skate, opting to shoot around in player skates and a tracksuit instead of his usual goalie gear.

- Louis Leblanc was home sick on Monday morning, still recovering from flu-like symptoms.

- Injured forward Petteri Nokelainen also hit the ice on Monday, wearing a no-contact jersey.

- Randy Cunneyworth confirmed the Andrei Markov will make the trip to Washington/Florida at the end of the week and will begin practicing in a no-contact jersey soon.

- Hamilton center Joonas Nattinen was named AHL Player of the Week on Monday after registering four goals and one assist in three Bulldogs wins.

- Blake Geoffrion wasted little time making his presence felt in Hamilton, picking up five points in his first two games with the Bulldogs.
