The Canadiens practiced Sunday morning at the Bell Sports Complex in Brossard following Saturday night’s 4-1 win over the Philadelphia Flyers. Carey Price, who was sidelined with a flu virus Saturday night, was not present at practice. P.K. Subban was also not present at practice due to flu-like symptoms.

Alexei Emelin and Max Pacioretty both returned to practice on Sunday morning in Brossard after sustaining upper-body injuries during the third period of Saturday night’s contest against the Flyers.

Head coach Michel Therrien provided a status update on the health of several Canadiens’ players during his post-practice press conference on Sunday –

Brendan Gallagher suffered a concussion during Saturday night’s win over the Philadelphia Flyers. The team will follow the league-mandated concussion protocol in Gallagher’s case. Therrien said Gallagher felt fine on Sunday morning, but he will not play Monday night against the Carolina Hurricanes.

Peter Budaj will get the start in goal on Monday night against the Carolina Hurricanes in Montreal, while Carey Price will serve as Budaj’s back-up. Therrien indicated that he would like Price to have a practice or two under his belt before returning to action.

Goaltender Robert Mayer has been sent back to the AHL’s Hamilton Bulldogs after serving as Peter Budaj’s back-up on Saturday night.

Prospect Michael Bournival recorded a natural-hat trick in the third period Saturday night to lead the Hamilton Bulldogs to a 4-2 win over the Houston Aeros at Copps Coliseum. Goaltender Dustin Tokarski, who was recently acquired in a trade with the Tampa Bay Lightning, picked up the win in his Bulldogs debut. It marked Hamilton’s fourth consecutive victory and the club’s fifth win in their last six games.
