MONTREAL - The Montreal Canadiens, in collaboration with Esso and Hockey Québec, are proud to welcome 14 minor hockey teams, from the Novice to Bantam levels, to the seventh edition of the Esso Minor Hockey Festival. The Festival will be held at the Bell Centre this Saturday, when the Canadiens host the Ottawa Senators in an afternoon matchup.
This annual activity offers young hockey players from different administrative regions of Hockey Québec the opportunity to play a friendly game on the ice where their NHL idols skate. Players will also be able to attend the Canadiens' game and take a guided tour of the Bell Centre. All the teams that were selected are members of the Montreal Canadiens' Learn, Respect and Fun (LRF) Program.
The Montreal Canadiens' LRF Program offers minor hockey teams the opportunity to sign a contract approved and issued by Canadiens General Manager Bob Gainey. By doing so, players and coaches agree to adhere to the principles of the LRF Program, as outlined by the Canadiens and Hockey Québec, which promote the sport while emphasizing the values of Respect, Learning and Fun.
