BROSSARD - It's safe to say Jonathan Drouin won't soon forget what happened to him at practice on Tuesday.
When it came time to get to work, the 22-year-old forward took a bit of a fall after hitting the ice without his blades attached to his skates.
"I don't think it takes a genius to know you need blades on your skates," cracked captain Max Pacioretty following practice. "Did any cameras get that?"
Unfortunately for Jonathan - but luckily for everyone else - RDS cameras did capture footage of Drouin seconds after his fall.
Following the incident, media members were trying to figure out who was behind Drouin's misfortune. In the end, it actually turned out to be Drouin himself.
"I got new skates today and I forgot to take them with me, so I had a small fall when I jumped onto the ice," said Drouin, who almost seemed disappointed that it was a simple mishap instead of a teammate playing a prank on him.
"The equipment guys put blades on my new skates, but I didn't put the new ones on. I put on my old skates that didn't have blades, so things went a little wrong."
Drouin's error definitely made Pacioretty's day.
"I've never seen that in my life," added Pacioretty with a laugh. "He instantly thought that someone put tape on his blades and he looked down and he didn't have blades on."

Here's hoping that Drouin will right the ship in time for Wednesday's morning skate...
