Development Camp - Scrimmage - Day 4

by Staff Writer / Montréal Canadiens

Team A secured a 4-2 victory over Team B in Wednesday afternoon’s scrimmage at the Bell Sports Complex in Brossard.

It marked the first time since the start of development camp that all players in attendance were divided into just two teams. Team A was coached by Donald Dufresne and Francis Bouillon, while Team B was helmed by Nick Carriere and Ken Morin.

Invitee Scott Eansor opened the scoring for Team A with a goal just over four minutes into the first period. The Troy, MI native knocked a loose puck off defenseman Noah Juulsen’s shot past Zachary Fucale to put Team A up 1-0.

Twelve minutes of scoreless hockey passed before defenseman Ryan Johnston tied things up 1-1 for Team B, lighting the lamp behind goaltender Charlie Lindgren.

In the second and final frame, invitee Kody McDonald put Team A up 2-1 just five minutes into the period, before Michael McCarron tipped defenseman Simon Bourque’s point shot beyond the reach of Hayden Hawkey to tie things up 2-2 for Team B with 13:15 remaining in regulation time.

Jeremy Gregoire scored the game-winning goal with 11 minutes to go for Team A, tipping a shot that beat Michael McNiven.

McDonald capped the scoring with his second goal of the game, an empty-netter that made it 4-2 for Team A.

A final scrimmage is scheduled for 9 a.m. on Friday at the Bell Sports Complex.
