Czech Republic vs. Norway

Captain Tomas Plekanec and the Czech Republic – the leaders of Group A entering Day 7 of World Championship preliminary round action – cranked up the offense in Thursday’s 7-0 win over Norway. The Habs' veteran center registered two penalty minutes and fired one shot on goal in 14:57 of ice-time in the victory.

USA vs. France

Mike Condon got the nod between the pipes in Team USA’s matchup against France in the fourth game of the tournament for both teams. The Habs' rookie netminder kicked aside all 19 shots thrown his way en route to earning a 4-0 shutout over France.

Forward Tim Bozon had a chance to end Condon’s shutout bid in the third period, but was denied by the 26-year-old goaltender.

Russia vs. Denmark

Alexei Emelin and Lars Eller clashed on Thursday as Russia and Denmark battled on Day 7 of tournament play. By the end of the first period, Russia had already lit the lamp three times to jump out to an early 3-0 lead.

The Russians would cruise to a 10-1 victory. Eller managed to register an assist on Denmark’s lone goal of the game. Emelin, meanwhile, collected two shots on goal and logged 16:40 of ice time for Russia.

Canada vs. Germany

Canada looked to remain undefeated in their fourth game of the World Hockey Championship on Thursday against Germany. With the score tied 2-2 through 40 minutes of play, Taylor Hall netted his second goal of the game to kick off a series of three unanswered goals by Canada in the final frame. Brendan Gallagher recorded two shots on goal in 14:39 of ice time in Canada’s 5-2 win.
