Russia vs. Latvia

Canadiens defenseman Alexei Emelin logged just 8:41 of ice-time in Russia’s 4-0 victory over Latvia on Monday morning after the rearguard received a 5-minute major penalty for tripping and was subsequently given a game misconduct.

Canada vs. Belarus

Brendan Gallagher registered a power-play assist in Canada’s 8-0 convincing victory over Belarus, combining with Connor McDavid and Michael Matheson to score Canada’s 8th goal of the game. The Habs persistent winger also fired two shots on goal and ended the match with a +1 rating.

Czech Republic vs. Sweden

Captain Tomas Plekanec and the Czech Republic defeated Sweden by the score of 4-2 in their 3rd game of tournament action. The Habs veteran paced all forwards with 18:34 of ice-time, where he fired two shots on net and finished the game with a +1 rating.

USA vs. Finland

In his second start of the tournament, Habs netminder Mike Condon kicked aside 19 of the 22 shots he faced in USA’s 3-2 loss to Finland on Monday. The rookie netminder kept the game deadlocked at 2-2 before Leo Komarov put Finland ahead by a goal with a power play marker early in the third period.
