MONTREAL – Forward David Desharnais
is the Molson Cup recipient for the month of November (12 points). He succeeds goaltender Carey Price
who was the Molson Cup award winner for October. Desharnais earns the first Molson Cup award of the month of his career.
Desharnais earned four first star selections (on November 1 against Winnipeg, November 5 versus the Islanders, November 7 against Boston and November 16 facing Vancouver). Desharnais finished ahead of teammates Alex Galchenyuk and Tomas Fleischmann.
The 29-year old forward collected eight points (5 goals, 3 assists) in 13 games, sharing the team lead in goals (with Max Pacioretty, Galchenyuk and Fleischmann). Desharnais displayed a +2 differential and scored two powerplay goals while averaging 16:28 of ice time per game. He was tied in the NHL with three winning goals in November.
David Desharnais will be presented with the Molson Cup during a ceremony prior to tomorrow’s game against the Columbus Blue Jackets at the Bell Centre.
