Danis assigned to Hamilton

Yann Danis made an impression in his NHL debut, shutting out the Thrashers in Atlanta on Oct. 12.


MONTREAL - Canadiens GM Bob Gainey announced Wednesday that goaltender Yann Danis has been assigned to the Hamilton Bulldogs of the American Hockey League.

The Bulldogs will play their next three games at home; tonight vs. Binghamton, November 11 vs. Cleveland and November 12 vs. Grand Rapids.

Danis, 24, played in three games so far this season with the Canadiens. He posted a 2-0-0 record, a 1.50 goals against average and a .946 save percentage. The Lafontaine, Quebec native recorded a shutout in his first NHL game on Oct. 12 at Atlanta (2-0). Danis played in 53 games with the Bulldogs in 2004-05, posting a 28-17-6 record, a 2.34 goals against average and a .924 save percentage.
