On his approach to the All-Star Skills Competition and the All-Star Game...

"I'm just going to go out there and try and have some fun, mix in a few saves and just enjoy the moment."

On who he thinks will win the NHL's Hardest Shot Competition on Saturday afternoon...

"Probably, Shea. His stick is built for that competition. He's a big, strong man. It'll be tough to knock him off the top."

On having plenty of family members with him this weekend in Los Angeles...

"I got to bring my family here and I'm enjoying my time with them. I think the fun will be looking back on these moments in your career and being like - 'This was a pretty cool event to go to and to be able to see and meet all the other players that you don't get to see all the time or haven't met before.'"

On what he enjoys most about the All-Star experience...

"I think just being around all the other guys. Today will be a lot of fun. It's always great to see the skills the guys have. Obviously, they're the top guys in the League and there are different events that make it fun for us to watch and take part in. With the new format, it's exciting, the game as well. It'll be a good weekend."

On the significance of being named an All-Star...

"The fact that Carey and I are fortunate enough to be representing our team and our teammates, obviously, without our teammates and a good team, we wouldn't have the chance to be here. We're lucky. It's an honor. It's something that's very special. You don't want to take it for granted, for sure."

On making the All-Star experience a family affair...

"The fact that players' families are here, it definitely brings along a more family-oriented side to the business. It's an initiative that Geoff [Molson] started, so that we could all travel together. It demonstrates the class of the organization and Geoff Molson's class, too. We take care of our families and they're very well treated."
