by Staff Writer / Montréal Canadiens

MONTREAL – Netminder Carey Price is the Molson Cup recipient for the month of October (13 points). Price was the overall Molson Cup award winner for the 2013-14 season.

Price was selected three times as the first star of the game (on October 21 against Detroit, the 25 versus the New York Rangers and the 28 at Calgary), and twice as the second star (October 8 at Toronto and October 18 against Colorado). Price finished ahead of teammates Brendan Gallagher and Max Pacioretty.

The 27-year old goaltender had a 7-1-1 record in nine games in October, with a 2.48 goals against average. He stopped 254 of the 276 shots he faced for a .920 save percentage. He led all NHL goaltenders during the first month of action with seven wins, tied with Frederik Andersen (Anaheim) and Ryan Miller (Vancouver).

Carey Price will be presented with the Molson Cup during a ceremony prior to the Sunday, November 2 game against the Calgary Flames at the Bell Centre.
