BROSSARD -- Montreal Canadiens general manager Kent Hughes announced on Sunday that the team has agreed to terms on a one-year, two-way contract with forward Lias Andersson.

Andersson, 24, recorded 59 points (31 goals, 28 assists) in 67 games with the Ontario Reign in the AHL this season. The Smogen, SE native also played one game with the Los Angeles Kings in 2022-23.

Andersson has suited up for 110 career games in the NHL with the New York Rangers and Los Angeles Kings since making his debut in 2017-18. The left-handed forward has registered seven goals and 10 assists, while serving 57 penalty minutes over that span.

Andersson was selected in the first round (7th overall) in 2017 by the Rangers.
