MONTREAL - The Montreal Canadiens announced on Friday that 23 players have been released from training camp. Twenty (20) of the 23 players have been reassigned to the Laval Rocket of the American Hockey League.

The following players have been assigned to Laval:
Morgan Adams-Moisan, Jeremiah Addison, Alexandre Alain, Daniel Audette, Alex Belzile, Will Bitten, Ryan Culkin, Jake Evans, Cale Fleury, Alexandre Grenier, Nikita Jevpalovs, Maxim Lamarche, Étienne Marcoux, Phélix Martineau, Michael McNiven, T.J. Melancon, Michael Pezzetta, Adam Plant, Lukas Vejdemo and Antoine Waked.
The Club also returned forward Joël Teasdale (Blainville-Boisbriand - QMJHL), as well as defensemen Josh Brook (Moose Jaw - WHL) and Scott Walford (Victoria - WHL) to their respective Junior teams.
There are still 43 players at camp (24 forwards, 16 defensemen, 3 goaltenders), including seven injured players (N. Deslauriers, M. Taormina, J. Tyszka, A. Shaw, N. Suzuki, H. Verbeek, S. Weber).
The Rocket will begin its training camp on Monday, September 24 at Place Bell in Laval. The team will play two preseason games in Belleville on September 28 and 29.
