On Friday, the Canadiens released their roster for the 2016 edition of their Rookie Camp which gets underway on Thursday, September 15th at the Bell Sports Complex in Brossard.
Twenty-seven players will be in attendance, including 15 forwards, nine defensemen and three goaltenders. Seventeen players are Canadiens draft picks, four are free-agents and six are invitees.
Up front, the likes of Nikita Scherback, Artturi Lehkonen, Martin Reway and Michael McCarron will be looking to impress the Canadiens’ brass, while notables Mikhail Sergachev, Noah Juulsen and Brett Lernout will likely be given plenty of looks on the back end. For their part, Zachary Fucale, Charlie Lindgren and Michael McNiven will be strutting their stuff between the pipes.
Following medicals and a 60-minute practice session on September 15th, players will travel to London, ON for a three-day tournament against fellow young guns from the Pittsburgh Penguins, Ottawa Senators and Toronto Maple Leafs at Budweiser Gardens.
Players will return to Montreal in the evening hours of September 18th with on-ice sessions running through the conclusion of the camp on September 21st.
