Canadiens place Nikita Scherbak on waivers

The 22-year-old forward hasn't suited up for the Habs so far this season

MONTREAL - The Canadiens placed forward Nikita Scherbak on waivers on Saturday afternoon.

Scherbak played five games with the AHL's Laval Rocket after being reassigned to the club on a conditioning stint on October 30, scoring one goal.
In 29 career games with the Canadiens since making his NHL debut during the 2016-17 campaign, Scherbak has five goals and seven points.
He was selected 26th overall by the Habs in the 2014 NHL Draft.
