Canadiens place Karl Alzner on waivers

The 30-year-old defenseman played eight games this season, collecting one assist

BROSSARD - The Canadiens announced on Monday that they've placed defenseman Karl Alzner on waivers.

The 30-year-old blueliner suited up for eight games during the 2018-19 campaign, collecting one assist and posting a plus-2 differential.

Alzner joined the Habs on July 1, 2017 and played all 82 games last season, registering one goal and 12 points.

The 11-year NHL veteran boasts 681 games of NHL experience, amassing 20 goals and 130 points along the way.

Alzner was the fifth-overall pick of the Washington Capitals in the 2007 NHL Draft.
