MONTREAL – Led by team owner and President Geoff Molson, the Montreal Canadiens introduced today a call to fans everywhere to wear their team colors more prominently throughout the 2015 NHL Playoffs. Backed with the use of the #bleublancYOU hashtag on social media, the initiative aims to spur greater visible support for the club as it competes for the 25th Stanley Cup in franchise history.
“We have the most passionate fans in the game and there is no better place to watch a playoff game than our Bell Centre,” said Geoff Molson. “Whether you’re at work, school, home, a party, or the Bell Centre, we’d love to see our fans united as one. Show your colors and wear your jersey with pride, and Go Habs Go!”
Starting today, fans on social media are encouraged to upload, tag, and share photos of themselves wearing their team colors using the #bleublancYOU hashtag to become part of the movement showing their support for the team. Some of the best and most creative photos will be shared in-arena at the Bell Centre during Canadiens home games; in addition, the club will award one signed player jersey per game via Twitter to a fan who has shared his or her photo and tagged it accordingly that day.
Retailer Tricolore Sports and Reebok have also partnered to help encourage the team’s initiative with a promotion that will run for the duration of the postseason. With any purchase of an official Reebok home (red) Canadiens jersey, fans will receive a limited-edition “Go Habs Go” red T-shirt, a $20 value, at no extra charge. The offer will be valid starting Friday morning at Tricolore Sports stores and online at tricoloresports.com.
