MONTREAL - The Canadiens announced on Friday that forward Markus Eisenschmid and goalie Michael McNiven had been cut from training camp. The pair will report to the Laval Rocket's training camp.

Eisenschmid played one exhibition game for the Habs - on Wednesday against the Washington Capitals - finishing with a minus-1 rating in 10:43 of ice time. McNiven, on the other hand, had yet to suit up for a preseason game.

They also announced that two players, Jeremiah Addison and Josh Brook, had undergone surgery.

Addison underwent shoulder surgery on Friday in Montreal, with his recovery period expected to be six months. For his part, Brook had surgery on his wrist also on Friday, and is expected to be out three months.

Earlier in the day, the Habs placed defenseman Zach Redmond on waivers.

The Rocket's training camp begins on Monday at Place Bell in Laval.
