Canadiens call up Lapierre

by Staff Writer / Montréal Canadiens

MONTREAL - Canadiens GM Bob Gainey announced Monday that centre Maxim Lapierre has been recalled from the Hamilton Bulldogs of the American Hockey League.

Lapierre, 21, has collected four points, including three goals, in five games with the Bulldogs this season. The 6-foot-2, 196-pound forward has scored a goal in each of his last two games.

In 2006 preseason action, Lapierre was held without a point, yet recorded five shots on goal and four penalty minutes in two games. He was assigned to the Bulldogs on September 27.

The St. Léonard native played in his only National Hockey League on November 15, 2005 against the Florida Panthers in the Bell Centre.
