MONTREAL - Montreal Canadiens general manager Marc Bergevin announced today that the team has agreed on the loan of forward Hayden Verbeek to the Banska Bystrica HC'05 in the Extraliga in Slovakia, for the start of the 2020-21 season. Verbeek is expected to report for Montreal & Laval training camps for the 2020-21 season.

Verbeek, 22, played 6 games with the Laval Rocket (AHL) in 2019-20, serving two penalty minutes. The 5'10'' and 183 lbs forward registered 19 points (5 goals, 14 assists) in 21 contests with Adirondack in the ECHL. Verbeek, a Kingston, ON native played 54 career games with Laval since making his AHL debut in 2018-19, registering seven points (4 goals, 3 assists) and 19 penalty minutes.
Verbeek agreed to terms on a 3-year entry level contract with the Canadiens on March 24, 2018.
