MONTREAL - Montreal Canadiens general manager Kent Hughes announced today that the team has agreed to terms on a one-year, two-way contract with defenseman Otto Leskinen.

The agreement will see Leskinen earn $750,000 at the NHL level and $300,000 at the AHL level.
The 25-year-old defenseman from Pieksamaki, Finland is returning to the Canadiens for a second stint after first playing for the organization from 2019-2021. Leskinen suited up for six career games in the NHL (all with the Canadiens) in addition to taking part in 85 games with the Laval Rocket in the AHL (3 goals, 36 assists).
This season, the 5'11'' and 187 lbs rearguard has split his time between the KHL, where he played 35 games for Helsinki's Jokerit (4 goals, 11 assists), and the Liiga, where he played 10 games with Tampere (4 goals, 4 assists).
