MONTREAL - Time flies when you're having fun!

The NHL Entry Draft is the perfect opportunity to bolster your lineup with first-round talent. But every once in a while, a team puts their hands on a franchise-altering player that plays the underdog role to perfection.
That's exactly what happened 12 years ago, on June 26, 2010, when the Canadiens selected Brendan Gallagher with the 147th overall pick.
Not only was Gallagher one of the best players from the draft, he quickly became a fan favorite, which is why we're taking a little trip down memory lane to discuss some of your favorite Gallagher-related highlights.
Goals, Goals, Goals
Few players have scored more even-strength goals than Gallagher, who happened to get his career off to a great start by scoring his first career goal against none other than Martin Brodeur.

Always On
There's a reason Canadiens fans immediately fell in love with No.11. His work ethic and dedication are beyond reproach.

Leader
Not only does Gallagher play a crucial leadership role on the team, he's also guiding the future leaders, as he did when he led the team to Guy Lafleur's banner following the tribute held at the Bell Centre for the Canadiens legend.

Laughs Abound
Whether it's interacting with the fans or driving opposing players to their boiling point, Gallagher's smile is sure to leave a lasting impression.

Actor
Gallagher is clearly a talented player, but we shouldn't sleep on his acting skills, either.

Goals again!
No.11 has scored a lot of goals, but few were as picture-perfect as his goal against the rival Boston Bruins during the 2016 Winter Classic.

Hockey Hero
His goal versus the Bruins was great, but we'd be remiss if we didn't mention his perfectly timed goal against the Toronto Maple Leafs in Game 7 of the first round last year.

Epitomizes being a Montreal Canadien
There's a reason Gallagher is considered the heart and soul of the team.

Respect
The long and glorious history of this franchise belongs to the fans, but it's up to players like Gallagher to respect those who have come before him and carry the torch for future generations.
