MONTREAL, QC - The Hamilton Bulldogs lived up to their "Never Say Die ‘Dogs" reputation, coming back from a 2-0 score to defeat the St. John's IceCaps 3-2 in the shootout.

The IceCaps opened the scoring at 3:29 into the second period, when Shawn Weller intercepted a clearing attempt by Bulldogs netminder Nathan Lawson to score his tenth of the season. After 40 minutes, St. John's was leading Hamilton 15-10 in shots.

Just 3:14 into the third period, Ben Maxwell made it 2-0 IceCaps on a 3-on-1 turned 3-on-2 play. Spencer Machacek and Carl Klingberg assisted on the goal. Brian Willsie put the Bulldogs on the board when he beat IceCaps netminder David Aebischer with his tenth of the season at 12:56 into the third stanza. Then, with just 1:42 left to play in regulation, Garrett Stafford's rocket power play point shot tied the game at 2.

The game would end in a shootout, with Ian Schultz scoring the winning goal after St. John's scored on three of their five shots. The Bulldogs also overtook the IceCaps 24-19 on the shot clock.
