Lagesson-Kulak-BI

MONTREAL -- Montreal Canadiens general manager, Kent Hughes, announced on Monday that defenseman Brett Kulak has been traded to the Edmonton Oilers in exchange for defenseman William Lagesson, a conditional second-round pick in 2022, and a seventh-round pick in 2024.

The Canadiens retain 50% of Kulak's salary for the remainder of the season.
The Oilers' second-round pick comes with the following condition: if the Oilers reach the Stanley Cup Final, the pick will become a second-round selection in 2023.
Lagesson, a 6-foot-2, 207 lbs defenseman, amassed four assists in 30 games with the Oilers this season and recorded two helpers in 11 contests with the Bakersfield Condors in the AHL. He was selected in the fourth round (91th overall) by the Oilers in 2014.
Kulak was acquired from the Calgary Flames on October 1st, 2018 for defensemen Rinat Valiev and Matt Taormina. He registered 11 goals and 34 assists in 215 games with the Canadiens.
