Artturi vs. Santeri

An offseason without some healthy competition just wouldn't be fun, right?

MONTREAL - We already knew that Artturi Lehkonen puts in plenty of work back home in Finland during the offseason. This year, though, he's added some friendly competition to his training routine.

Back on June 26, Lehkonen revealed via his Instagram account (@arainumous) that he'd made a fitness-related wager with his childhood friend, Santeri Nieminen (@nipaofficial).

In short, the pair would go head-to-head in 10 different sports competitions while the 23-year-old left-winger was in Scandinavia for the summer. If Nieminen manages to beat his buddy in any of the events, Lehkonen would pay for his trip to Montreal.

In his initial post, Lehkonen referred to the competition against Nieminen as a "not so friendly tournament," but we all know that he was just kidding.

As it stands, Lehkonen has won all three events, coming out on top in penalty kicks, a badminton match, and most recently in a CrossFit competition.

Stay tuned to Lehkonen's Instagram account for more updates as the tournament rolls on. After all, there are still seven events to go!
