Richard played seven games with the Canadiens after being recalled just over three weeks ago

MONTREAL -- The Canadiens assigned forward Anthony Richard to the AHL's Laval Rocket on Tuesday.

Richard registered two points (1 goal, 1 assist) in seven games with Montreal after being recalled on Dec. 18.
His first NHL goal came against the Colorado Avalanche on Dec. 21.

The 26-year-old Trois-Rivières native leads the Rocket with 18 goals and 31 points this season.
Richard was a fourth-round selection of the Nashville Predators (100th overall) in the 2015 NHL Draft.
He signed a one-year, two-way contract with the Canadiens last July.
