MONTREAL – The Montreal Canadiens announced Tuesday that 27 players will participate in the team’s rookie camp from September 15-21. The Club will participate in a rookie tournament which will take place from September 16-18, in London, Ontario (99 Dundas Street, London, Ontario).
The tournament features rookie players from four NHL clubs; the Canadiens, the Ottawa Senators, the Pittsburgh Penguins and the Toronto Maple Leafs. Each team will play three games in three days.
Among the 27 players to participate in the rookie camp, there will be 15 forwards, nine defensemen and three goaltenders. Sixteen (16) players at camp are Canadiens draft selections, including five of the six players selected by Montreal at the 2016 NHL Entry Draft. Twenty-five (25) of the 27 players also took part in the Canadiens’ development camp last July.

Annual golf tournament
The Canadiens will hold their annual golf tournament to benefit the Montreal Canadiens’ Children’s Foundation on Tuesday, September 20, 2016 at Club de golf Laval-sur-le-Lac (150, Les Peupliers, Laval-sur-le-Lac). Media availability with players and management will take place from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. The shotgun start is scheduled for 10:30 a.m.
Main training camp
The Canadiens’ main training camp will begin on Thursday, September 22, 2016 as players will be reporting for medicals and physical testing at the Bell Sports Complex in Brossard. Training camp will run until Tuesday, October 11, in preparation for the season opener against the Buffalo Sabres at First Niagara Center on Thursday, October 13. Please take note that a photo opportunity will be granted to members of the media on Thursday, September 22 in Brossard. The first media availability with players and head coach will take place following the team’s practice session on Friday, September 23.
