Russia 9 - Latvia 1
The Russians skated to a rather easy 9-1 victory over Latvia on Day 2 of the IIHF World Junior Hockey Championship at the Air Canada Centre in Toronto to register their first win of the tournament.
Mikhail Sergachev, who scored a goal in Monday's night's 5-3 loss to Canada, was held without a point this time around.
Sergachev logged 15:51 of playing time on Tuesday, and spent two minutes in the penalty box.
Up next for the Sergachev and Team Russia is a game against Team USA on Thursday.
Canada 5 - Slovakia 0
The Canadians blanked the Slovaks by a score of 5-0 on Tuesday night to post their second victory of the tournament.
Noah Juulsen was held off the scoresheet for a second straight game. The Canadiens' first-round pick in 2015 logged 16:13 of ice time and was penalized once.
Team Canada will be back in action on Thursday night when they square off against Latvia.
