Zach Hamill Assigned to Providence

BOSTON, MA – Boston Bruins General Manager Peter Chiarelli announced today that the club has assigned forward Zach Hamill to the Providence Bruins (American Hockey League).

Hamill skated in three NHL games this year, earning one assist on February 9, 2011 in the 8-6 win over the Montreal Canadiens. Hamill made his NHL debut last season on April 11, 2010 where he logged an assist in the 4-3 shootout win over the Washington Capitals.

He has skated in 44 games for the P-Bruins this season with 3-25=28 totals, and leads the team in assists.

The 22-year-old Hamill was selected by the Bruins in the first round (eighth overall) of the 2007 NHL Entry Draft.

During the 2008-09 season with the P-Bruins, Hamill posted 13-13=26 totals and 40 penalty minutes while being limited to 65 games due to a thumb injury. During the 2009-10 season, Hamill posted 14-30=44 totals in 75 games.
